There are many groups that residents can join to serve their community or simply gather with to socialize. Our small community is driven by volunteer organizations and we encourage all of our full-time and part-time residents to become involved in a local cause of their choosing.
The Eilert Auen Post # 133 of the American Legion is located at 310 Madison Street.
The local Lions Club is a service organization dedicated to the Lake View community and the projects of the Lions Club International. The Lake View Lions Club meets monthly.
The Men's Club provides funds and volunteers for many events to improve our community. The Men's Club raises funds at events such as their Beverage Garden at the Annual Summer Water Carnival. These funds are then reinvested into the community for projects like the youth baseball and softball programs, the annual Easter Egg hunt, and the RIF program.
This membership driven group consists of business and ambassador members who support the economic development efforts of the community. The LVCC sponsors business promotions and organizes events that attract visitors and resident alike, such as the Pelican Pedal & Plunge, the Rock & Run, Stone Pier Summer Concert Series, and Sip & Sample, among many others.
This volunteer committee works year-round in preparation for the annual Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival.
The Garden Club keeps Lake View beautiful by maintaining gardens in public spaces. They maintain the Memorial Rose Garden in Speaker Park, as well as other plantings downtown and near the Chief Black Hawk statue.
Members of the local Historical Society operate and maintain the Lake View Historical Museum. These volunteers staff the museum, which is open weekends during the summer months.
Lake View also has various card clubs, church groups and various other civic-minded organizations.
