Lake View is home to the southernmost natural glacial lake in the United States, Black Hawk Lake. Our community also sits on the northwest end of the Sauk Rail Trail, a 33-mile hard surface biking and walking trail. We are conveniently located in west central Iowa in Sac County, rated the 7th best place to live in rural America.

With a long history of being an outdoor playground for many, Lake View has retained its rural Iowa charm while continuing to welcome about 350,000 visitors a year. We were recently named the 2011 Iowa Tourism Community of the Year.

Snowmobile trail riding and races, an Arctic Open Golf on ice-covered Black Hawk Lake, a Pelican Festival, Memorial Day Weekend festivities, the popular Stone Pier Summer Concert Series, annual bike ride events on the Sauk Rail Trail, a Main Street Sip & Sample event, the historic Summer Water Carnival are just some of the community's annual festivities.
