Health care is a vital component for enjoying a high quality of life, and Lake View is fortunate to have an excellent health care system. For emergency services, ambulance service is provided through Sac County. We have an ambulance located in Lake View staffed by three full-time EMTs.
In addition to emergency services, Lake View has two medical clinics that serve the community: UnityPoint and McCrary-Rost Clinic. Both of these clinics are aligned with regional health care organizations to provide access to specialized care. Lake View also has two dental clinics, Family First Dental and Lake View Family Dental; a vision clinic, Rock Judisch Vision Clinic; as well as the Lake View Chiropractic Clinic and Brotherton Family & Sports Chiropractic.
For our furry friends, we have Lake View Veterinary Clinic. Specializing in large and small animal care, the vet clinic also has equine medicine.
Lake View residents have the choice of many regional hospitals. Two that are located nearby are Loring Hospital in Sac City and Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.
Located in Sac City, just ten miles to the north of Lake View, Loring is a 25-bed, full-service primary care critical access hospital providing service to the communities in Sac County and beyond. They offer many types of general and specialty care including: Cardiac Rehab, Emergency Services, Family Hospice, Home Health Care, Laboratory, Nursing Services, Pharmacy, Pulmonary Rehab, Outpatient Services, Radiology Services, Physical Therapy and Rehab, Surgical Services and an independent senior living facility. Outpatient specialty clinics include: cardiology, general surgery, nephrology, orthopedics, sports medicine, oncology, podiatry, and urology.
Stewart Memorial Community Hospital
Located in Lake City, Stewart Memorial serves a six-county region in western Iowa. Located twenty miles to the east of Lake View, it is a full-service community hospital providing a wide array of services including: Ambulance, Dizziness & Balance, Mammography, Prenatal Classes, Anesthesia, Emergency Room, Nursing Services, Pulmonary Rehab, Bone Densitometry, EMG & Nerve Conduction, Obstetrics and New Born Radiology, Cardiac Rehab, Occupational Health, Respiratory Care, Home Care, Occupational Therapy, Sleep Studies, Chemotherapy, Hospice, Surgery, Labor & Delivery, and Physical Therapy.
There are other hospitals located within 30 miles of Lake View. They are in Carroll, Ida Grove, and Storm Lake.
Lake View is home to Blackhawk Life Care, a 60-bed nursing home facility. This facility offers excellent long-term care for many elderly residents. They also provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. One can expect reliable elder care and a friendly staff at Blackhawk Life Care.
